They provide a marketplace where your affiliate program will be advertised to other affiliate marketers. They also provide the tracking software for your affiliates so you don’t have to build your own tracking system. In some ways this is better because it takes care of the trust issues. Affiliates are always suspicious of whether or not they’re getting credited for the sales they generate. By having an intermediary take care of transaction tracking and payments, the fear of being cheated is alleviated.

I think we may have talked about this once before, but the only consideration that I believe should be given equal billing here is that I believe that people should be paid for what they can control. A disconnect for me, tying marketing comp to revenue is that they (marketers) can lead a horse to water but they can’t make them (sales) drink. If there is agreement on the market, the offer, the definition of the leads and tight management over metrics along the demand waterfall (MQL, SAL, SQL, Closed) – then I am all for commissions for everyone! Hands down I’d say the best thing you can do is research 1 primary keyword, craft an enticing article title that includes your keyword (though it doesn’t have to be an exact match), spend time writing your search engine snippets (SEO titles/meta descriptions), and by far the most important is making your content as VALUABLE as possible through videos, nice graphics, table of contents, bold/colors/styling, etc. Small things like keyword density barely matter.
